Dahl (Parippu) Curry Recipe

Dahl – 250 g or 2 Cups 
Two green Chillies 
1 Stem of Curry Leaves
2 Sticks of Cinnamon 
3 Cloves of Garlic
​Coconut Milk (Optional) – 1 Cup
1/2 of Onion (Diced)  
2 Teaspoons of chilli flakes (Proportion Optional)
1/2 teaspoon of Turmeric 
1 1/2 of Curry Powder​ 
2-3 Teaspoon of Salt


  1. ​Wash the Dahl thoroughly 
  2. Place a pot on the stove on low  flame and add three cups of water and 1 cup of coconut milk (Optional) 
  3. Add the Dahl, Onion, Green chilli, and Garlic and mix it all together
  4. Add all the Spices and the curry leaves together and let it simmer 
  5. Cook until Dahl has softened to you liking 


  • Enjoy with Rice or other meals such as Roti or Parata
